OUR CLUB 

As of the March 2023, the Silkwood Jnr Football is no longer operational. Lack of players and members has resulted in the closure of the club.  The grounds of Centenary Park in Silkwood have now been surrendered to the Cassowary Coast Regional Council.  Anyone interested in playing soccer in the Region should refer to the PLAYFOOTBALL online registration to find their nearest club.                       https://www.playfootball.com.au/

The soccer season runs for approximately 6 months of the year: March through to September.  Sign-on day is held in February & Pre-season games start early March.

Game times each Saturday are via a draw system & are supplied to players at training each week; usually first games are held around 1.30pm, last games being 3pm. Each team usually only has one game each Saturday depending on team numbers & weather.

Each player is placed in a team depending on age; their age is defined by the age they turn for the calendar year, for example if your child is 8 in September they will be Under 8 for that season. Except for not having enough players to make a team then age groups can be combined to make a team; i.e. Under 8/9.

Players aged 3-5 years old do not have games on a Saturday however throughout the season they may be invited to join events in addition to their training activities on a Wednesday. Players from 5-10 play Small Sided Football, where there is no points ladder. Players 11-15 years old play competition as of FFA rules & compete in finals etc.

Saturday games are held at Castor Park in Mourliyan.
